
He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1990. After completing his master's and doctorate degrees, Memiş became an associate professor in 2004 and a professor in 2011 in the Department of Commercial Law. Memiş worked as a faculty member at Atatürk University Erzincan Faculty of Law between 1991-2004, and then worked as a faculty member at Kadir Has University Faculty of Law and İstanbul Şehir University Faculty of Law. He currently continues his academic studies as a faculty member at Beykent University Faculty of Law.
Throughout his professional life, Memiş has published articles and books, and has participated in many national and international symposiums and made presentations. He also plays important roles in judicial and legislative activities. He successfully served as the president of the State Planning Organization's 9th Intellectual Property Development Plan Commission and the Electronic Commerce Law Commission. Memiş, who also continues his activities as an ICC Arbitrator, was a member of the Commission that prepared the draft law regarding the Istanbul Arbitration Center. In addition, he participated in the screening processes of the European Union Intellectual Property Law.
