
Preston Richard is a European Patent Attorney, UPC Representative, with more than 15 years of experience in patent prosecution, opposition, and litigation. He specializes in computer-implemented inventions and AI-related patents representing clients before the EPO.
As one of the editors of the EPO Software Patent Decisions Knowledgebase, he tracks developments in software patentability at the EPO. Previously a lecturer at MIPLC (Munich), he continues to train future patent professionals as an EQE Tutor and frequently speaks on AI, software patents, and emerging technologies. His engineering and legal background (LL.M.) enables him to align technical innovation with IP strategy.
